Moving from Level 3 to Level 4 in Maths
We have provided the most recent Maths SATs Past Papers that are available and together with the answer sheets these provide an invaluable resource to see just how well your child is doing. But, what happens when a test has been completed, marked and it is found that level 3 has been achieved but the mark was some way off achieving a Level 4? Well, you could give another test and see if it makes any difference, and indeed it may result in a slightly higher score, but endless testing will not greatly improve mathematical understanding.
It is far better to look at what areas the child is having problems with and find similar questions that they can work on and see how to answer efficiently. This is where we would like to point you towards the MathSphere Booster Download. This download provides hundreds of worksheets aimed specifically at boosting Level 3 to Level 4. Past papers have been carefully analysed and the types of questions organised into categories, including, where appropriate, calculator and non-calculator modules.
Moving from Level 4 to Level 5 in Maths
We have provided the most recent Maths SATs Past Papers that are available and together with the answer sheets these provide an invaluable resource to see just how well your child is doing. Level 4 is a good level to achieve in Year 6 and many children do not reach this standard. However, there is also a good percentage of children who can reach Level 5, with a little help. This is a big step forward, but a little extra help can go a long way towards achieving this level.
